Sunrise from El Punto Coyote

Saturday seemed to drag. After twelve hours of driving, flat tire on a loaded trailer, tending injured Buck the Dog in the back seat, drizzle, a 45-minute wait for lunch….. Finally, we slowly drove the ten miles of Big Bend limestone and dust to pull into El Punto Coyote. Home. Two weeks of Home.

And so we are, working our hands raw, building things, small hikes, watching a hawk screeching and circling above us, having dinner with friends, and forgetting what day it is.

A brief stint at a WiFi spot in town after a two-dollar shower and BLT. Then  the long ride home following headlights on limestone. Dark. Stars. Quiet.

More later.

Construction of the ramada begins.
